Dirty Bikes Suck!

I can't stress this enough ... if you EVER want people to help you out with product (aka Sponsor you) it is crucial that you keep your bikes and equipment clean!  Don't show up to a race with your bike looking like the one above.  Your role as a sponsored rider is to be an ambassador for your brands and educate people of the advantages your brand can offer.  Showing up somewhere with a dirty bike shows disrespect for your equipment and the people who were nice enough to help you get it!  Everyone gets busy sometimes and has to hope on a less than perfect bike for a quick workout, but this should not become a habit.  Some tips ....

- Have a bike was station setup at home ready for duty at a moments notice
- Hose down your bike after every ride (right after you take off your shammy and before you sit down and start to relax, drink some Recoverite while spraying)
- Use a nice soft towel to dry the now wet bike and chain as well
- This is a good time to clean the chain with a chain cleaner and apply a fresh coat of lube
- Break out the polish before races so your bike looks and works like new (a great time to check for loose bolts and cracks)
